Laura has been in the softball world for 23 years and grew up in a baseball family with her uncle playing professional baseball for 12 years. She completed her high school career in 2008 playing for Greenwood High School located in Bowling Green, KY. She was a starter for 6 years in which they won 6 District titles, 5 Regional titles, and finished her career with Back-to-Back State titles. Throughout her career, she was awarded the All-District Tournament team (2005, 2008) All-Region First Team (2007, 2008) All-Region Tournament Team (2007, 2008) All-State Tournament Team (2008).
Laura continued her softball career at Georgetown College, in which she was named to the First Team All-Season Team 2009, All-Conference Tournament Team 2009, Academic All-Conference Team 2010, and won the Mid-South Conference championship in her Freshman Season. She was blessed to be able to participate in the NAIA National Championship in the same season. Laura was also awarded received Student-Athlete of the Week Award and the Servant Leadership Award for Georgetown Athletics in 2010. She then transferred to Western Kentucky University in which she was an outfield starter for 2 years.
After finishing her playing career, Laura returned to her high school as the hitting coach for the Lady Gators from 2012-2014. During her time as a coach, the Lady Gators recorded a record of 117-14-1 (.886) including an undefeated campaign in 2013 naming them the 3A Coaching Staff of the Year. They claimed 2 district titles, 3 regional titles, and 1 state title during her time on the coaching staff.
She received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Western Kentucky University and currently works at Hughston Clinic Orthopaedics in Hendersonville, TN.
