Devin grew up in White House, Tennessee, and attended White House Heritage High School right north of Nashville. While at Heritage, he lettered 8 years between 2 varsity sports, earning 6 All-District, 6 All-County, 5 All-Region, 1 District MVP, and an All-State Honor. Devin passed on several collegiate athletic opportunities in order to have the more traditional college experience. Since, Devin has earned a Bachelors degree from the University of Tennessee, a Master’s degree from LSU, and is currently enrolled in a certificate and start to a Ph.D. program at Trevecca Nazarene University. Devin loves coaching and pushing athletes past their previous thresholds. He has a focus on improving skills, while continuously working to improve physical fitness to maximize their skills. He believes strength and conditioning allow for athletes to be the best they can be and compete at the highest level possible.
Devin’s coaching experience started in high school when he coached local youth league teams. Once in Knoxville, he coached soccer at St. Joseph Catholic School for 2 years, where the school won their first 2 KISL Championships and accumulated a record of 19-5. Devin then coached the University of Tennessee Woman’s Club Team, where he compiled a record of 11-4. Following grad school, Devin moved overseas for almost two years, living in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates for part of that duration. While in the UAE, he was an assistant coach on the Petroleum Institutes (now Khalifa University) Men’s Basketball team, in charge of their strength and conditioning program. The team finished 2nd in their region and 9th in the national tournament. Upon returning back to the U.S., Devin is now a Teacher and an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at White House Heritage, his alma mater. Since his return, Heritage has posted a 36-16 record, with a regular season and tournament championship. Devin is in charge of strength and conditioning for the men’s basketball program, where numerous athletes have substantially increased their speed, explosiveness, and strength. Every member of the varsity team has increased their vertical, 1 rep max on the bench by 50 pounds, and their squat max by 90 pounds. Four athletes have made an increase of 5 inches on their vertical, 100 pounds on bench, and 200 pounds on squat.
